Just Be Kind...

I had a friend respond to my Mental Health and Me blog post with this comment and I wanted to share it with you all because it really touched me.

"Trish this is so lovely and so very very brave of you. I plucked up the courage to do something similar recently and I have been knocked down by some people and so I deleted the posts. Sometimes it helps just putting things down right so why can others not see that? I don't want to talk to a support worker, I want to talk to my family and friends. I know I should delete the texts they sent me but I can't right now. I am hurting too much. Trying not to clam up again here. Just want to show people what it is like to be me. is that so wrong? Thank goodness for four legged friends, oh no wait, I am even damaging him with my love and being over protective. The anger is coming out now! 😥😡😤"

It hurt to read this as I care deeply for this woman. She jas been through such a hard time recently and needs support. Sadly, she hasn't found that in these people. Why can't we just be kind to one another? Why do we feel the need to put others down? It isn't right. You don't know how low someone is feeling and one unkind word could do so much damage. Please just think before you speak and remember your words can hurt or they can heal...

2015: The year of working, laughing, loving and living

Well, here we are. A week and a half into the new year. Are you all sticking to your resolutions? I am, so far. I decided that I want to be more Sparkly. That to me, means happier, nicer, more kind and caring. It means feeling good about myself and my choices. It means feeling free to love and laugh. Over the years I have lost my giggle. That was one thing my Mum told me in a letter she wrote me before she died. Never stop giggling. And I'm sad to say I did stop. People have noticed, family and friends have commented on it. My fiancé has mentioned it more than once and it was starting to cause problems. I got quite depressed and struggled on a daily basis. Books were kind of a saving grace as was Twitter. But the real world and my REAL life were shut out. So, this year I have decided to change all of that. 2015 is my year of laughing, loving, travelling, working, smiling, playing and giggling.
