Book Review - Watching You by Lisa Jewell

Welcome to my Review of Watching You by Lisa Jewell!  What They Say: Gripping psychological suspense from the number one bestselling author of Then She Was Gone , as what begins as an innocent crush develops into a dangerous infatuation. You’re back home after four years working abroad with a brand new husband in tow. You’re keen to find a place of your own. But for now, you’re living with your big brother, camped out in his spare bedroom. And then – quite unexpectedly – you meet the man next door. He’s the head teacher of the local high school. He’s twice your age. And he’s devastatingly attractive. Soon you find you’re watching him. All the time. But what you don’t know is that someone is watching you. Or that what has started as an innocent crush is quickly turning into an obsession as dark as it is deadly. Family secrets, illicit passion, and an unexplained murder lie at the heart of Lisa Jewell’s gripping new novel. What I Say: I just finished reading Watching You...

My Books of the Year 2015

Welcome to Tishylou's Books of the Year 2015! Well, can you believe it's that time of year again?? Christmas is fast approaching and with it, another New Year! I can't quite believe how quickly time has flown by... I've read some absolutely amazing books these past 12 months, though sadly haven't been able to blog about them nearly as much as I would have liked. I've decided to do things a little differently this year. I have chosen my favourite books in a few categories and then I will list my Top Reads of the Year in no particular order, then tell you my Book of the Year. I have also decided to include Audiobooks as this is something I have begun listening to and reviewing. So without further adieu..... NEW AUTHOR DISCOVERY - There are two authors who I have found this year and am totally hooked on both of their works now. Jenny Hale (Bookouture) - I kind of randomly picked Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses from my Kindle Christmas list. I was...

My Review of The Girls by Lisa Jewell

I am a big fan of Lisa Jewell and I always get really excited when she has a new book coming out. Her last book, The Third Wife was a firm favourite of mine last year and has haunted me ever since, so I was over the moon when I got accepted to read this on Netgalley. What They Say: You live on a picturesque communal garden square, an oasis in urban London where your children run free, in and out of other people’s houses. You’ve known your neighbours for years and you trust them. Implicitly. You think your children are safe. But are they really? Midsummer night : a thirteen-year-old girl is found unconscious in a dark corner of the garden square. What really happened to her? And who is responsible? What I Say: Wow! That was my first reaction when I turned the last page of this book. I mean, just, wow! That was intense! Ok, so this book is set in an idyllic communal garden community. The kind of place I imagine most British children wished they grew up in (and the kind of ...

A tragic accident? Or suicide? Her grief-stricken husband, Adrian, is determined to find out. Maya had a job she enjoyed; she had friends. They'd been in love. She even got on with his two previous wives and their children. In fact, they'd all been one big happy family. But before long, Adrian starts to identify the dark cracks in his perfect life. Because everyone has secrets. And secrets have consequences. Some of which can be devastating... What I Say: WOW!! Just wow! I didn't think Lisa could top Before I Met You, but she did! This is simply stunning! It's sad, funny, sweet, gripping, tragic... It's just sublime! It's everything I had h...
