What They Say:
Wynter’s Trees is the home of Christmas. For the people of Wynmouth it’s where they get their family Christmas tree, and where Christmas truly comes to life. But for Liza Wynter, it’s a millstone around her neck. It was her father’s pride and joy but now he’s gone, she can’t have anything to do with it. Until her father’s business partner decides to retire and she must go back to handle the transition to his son Ned. When Liza arrives, she discovers a much-loved business that’s flourishing under Ned’s stewardship. And she’s happy to stay and help for the Christmas season, but then she has other plans. But will the place where she grew up make her change her mind? And can it weave its Christmas cheer around her heart…?
What I Say:
Where to start? Well, for me there are two authors who make Christmas better with their books. One is Milly Johnson. The other is our Heidi Swain. She is the Queen of festive feelings and her winter books always make me cosy and give all the feels!
Liza is the best friend I wish I had. I adore everything about her and feel like we'd bond instantly. She's warm but jaded due to her past heartaches, fierce when she needs to be and she is strong. I loved the way she develops relationships in this story, they feel so natural. Heidi is great at that!
As for Ned... What to say? From the moment we first meet him, I kinda fell a leeeetle bit in lust. I think he's my new book boyfriend! Hands off girls, he's mine!
This was my first Christmas book of the year and it has certainly set the bar high! I loved it so much, I'm already planning a re-read! 11/10
