Blog Tour Stop with Review - Love and Other Things to Live For by Louise Leverett

Welcome to my Stop on the Blog Tour for Love and Other Things to Live For by Louise Leverett. I've got a review for you today and I hope it will encourage you to read this book!

What They Say:
Jessica Wood is an aspiring photographer living in London. She’s had her heart broken, and her friends have pieced it back together again.
But across the neon lights of Soho, in the smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke, on every night bus, in every song, every time she tries to forget: she remembers him.

Now, in a battle between the past and the future, choosing between having a life and making a living, finding her feet or spreading her wings, Jessica must ask herself: who is she really living for?
Love and Other Things to Live For is an ode to modern girls and triumph over heartbreak, perfect for fans of Holly Bourne and Dolly Alderton.

What I Say:

I really didn't know what to expect when I first started this book. I'd never heard of the author before and hadn't heard a lot of hype about the book.

I had nothing to worry about though. As we all know, sometimes you find a hidden gem in a book you've heard very little about. This is one of those hidden gems!

The story follows Jess, an unhappy woman who is heartbroken, unemployed and lost. She's just wandering through a life that she finds unfulfilling. The only bright point for her is her friends Amber, Marlowe and Sean. Charlie is the man who broke her heart and saw her move back in with Amber. Set in London, the story is a slow-burner to begin with but is absolutely worth staying with.

Jess has to find what makes her happy, what she wants to live for. Her career stalled before it started and her passion for photography doesn't seem to be a viable way to make a living. Or is it? We follow Jess as she discovers herself and what really matters to her. She has to learn to love herself so that she can move on with her life after Charlie.

Love And Other Things to Live For is a modern, funny, sweet and inspiring story about finding yourself, your passions and only then finding who is out there to share your life with. I'm really glad I read this and I would encourage you to pick up a copy too. 8/10

2015: The year of working, laughing, loving and living

Well, here we are. A week and a half into the new year. Are you all sticking to your resolutions? I am, so far. I decided that I want to be more Sparkly. That to me, means happier, nicer, more kind and caring. It means feeling good about myself and my choices. It means feeling free to love and laugh. Over the years I have lost my giggle. That was one thing my Mum told me in a letter she wrote me before she died. Never stop giggling. And I'm sad to say I did stop. People have noticed, family and friends have commented on it. My fiancé has mentioned it more than once and it was starting to cause problems. I got quite depressed and struggled on a daily basis. Books were kind of a saving grace as was Twitter. But the real world and my REAL life were shut out. So, this year I have decided to change all of that. 2015 is my year of laughing, loving, travelling, working, smiling, playing and giggling. I will still read and review, but only the books I choose. No more blog tours unl...
