Merry Christmas and Welcome to my Wrap Up of 2017 and My Annual Books of the Year List!
According to Goodreads, I have read 49 books this year (but I'm sure there were more so I will just include them as I remember them). (I'm 25% of the way through my 50th), so I will begin with a list of the books that I have read this year. There have been some corkers and I have discovered some brilliant new authors and series.
Wow! That is quite good for me! I'm usually a slow reader and one a week is pretty impressive!
Ok, so I'm going to do my books of the year a little differently as I read too many amazing books to just pick 10. I have some categories and special awards!
BEST CHARACTER IN A SERIES:
DI Robyn Carter by Carol Wyer.
She is the lead in Little Girl Lost, The Silent Children and a few others and is such a kick-ass woman!
BEST NON-FICTION:
Me Life Story : Sofa So Good by Scarlett Moffatt.
This was truly an inspirational, un-put-downable read. Scarlett is so open and honest and raw and I love her for it. I had the pleasure of meeting her soon after reading this and she is a doll! Such a gutsy book from an amazing lady!
BEST CHILDREN'S BOOK:
Love From Lexie by Cathy Cassidy.
Such a lovely story of friendship, bravery, heartbreak and first love. I adored Lexie and her friends. You need to read this, never mind the Teen label on it!
BEST SERIES FINALE:
Forever Geek (Geek Girl #6) by Holly Smale
I am still traumatized by the fact that there will be no more Harriet Manners books. Not only was Harriet an awesome character, she was my friend! This series has been so much fun to read and I have loved getting to know the characters. I cried buckets when I closed this book for the final time.
BEST DEBUT:
How To Mend A Broken Heart by Anna Mansell
This was a beautiful story and I found it really hard to believe it was a debut! I was moved to tears on more than one occasion and look forward to many more books from Anna!
Congratulations to all of my winners and thank you all for the amazing books! It truly has been a wonderful year of reading! Thank you to all of the amazing publishers for sending me so many wonderful reads and allowing me to do what I love! xxx
I already have some beauties lined up for 2018 and I can't wait to get started!

Oh my! Thank you Trish so much for awarding Robyn the title of Best Character in a Series. You have no idea how much that means to me (and her). I might have gulped back a tear or two.
