Blog Tour Stop with Review of The Summer Reunion by Leah Mercer

Blog Tour Stop - The Summer Reunion by Leah Mercer

Blurb: Six friends on holiday. A secret worth dying for.

In a gorgeous French stone villa, a group of friends reunite for a weekend of reminiscing and laughter. But as glasses of wine are poured, they find they aren’t alone.

Standing at the door is a man the friends thought they’d never see again. With a ferocious storm raging and roads closed, they have no choice but to let him in. Instantly the dream weekend takes a dark turn.

Because someone invited him here.

Because someone has been living a lie.

And someone wants revenge.

But when the truth is revealed, will anyone make it out alive?

A totally addictive psychological suspense thriller that fans of Lucy Foley, Adele Parks and Sally Hepworth will absolutely love.

What I Say:

The Summer Reunion by Leah Mercer is a really interesting read. It deserves to be devoured in the sunshine by a pool with a cocktail in hand. I, however, read it in dreary, rainy Lancashire. This book deserves better!

There are a lot of characters, so it took me a little while to figure everyone out and to make connections. The first third was a lot of back story and introductions, so it was a bit of a slow start.

However, once the story got going, things picked RIGHT UP! There was more action than I expected, and I am not mad about it. There were twists and turns galore, too! I really was shocked by some of them!

With chapters being written from different characters POVs, I was a tiny bit confused, but I really think that was a me problem. I loved the dynamics within the individual families, but also the group dynamic! It was crackling with tension!

Overall, this was a dark, twisted thriller, and I would absolutely recommend it! 4⭐️

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing to read an e-arc.

2015: The year of working, laughing, loving and living

Well, here we are. A week and a half into the new year. Are you all sticking to your resolutions? I am, so far. I decided that I want to be more Sparkly. That to me, means happier, nicer, more kind and caring. It means feeling good about myself and my choices. It means feeling free to love and laugh. Over the years I have lost my giggle. That was one thing my Mum told me in a letter she wrote me before she died. Never stop giggling. And I'm sad to say I did stop. People have noticed, family and friends have commented on it. My fiancé has mentioned it more than once and it was starting to cause problems. I got quite depressed and struggled on a daily basis. Books were kind of a saving grace as was Twitter. But the real world and my REAL life were shut out. So, this year I have decided to change all of that. 2015 is my year of laughing, loving, travelling, working, smiling, playing and giggling. I will still read and review, but only the books I choose. No more blog tours unl...
