Blog Tour Stop - Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls at the Winter Wonderland by Heidi Swain

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls at the Winter Wonderland by Heidi Swain!

What They Say:

After calling off her engagement, Hayley, the Wynthorpe Hall housekeeper, wants nothing more than to return to her no-strings fun-loving self, avoiding any chance of future heartbreak. Little does she know, Wynbridge’s latest arrival is about to throw her plan entirely off course . . .

Moving into Wynthorpe Hall to escape the town’s gossip, Hayley finds herself immersed in the eccentric Connelly family’s festive activities as they plan to host their first ever Winter Wonderland.

But Hayley isn’t the only new resident at the hall. Gabe, a friend of the Connelly’s son Jamie, has also taken up residence, moving into Gatekeeper’s Cottage, and he quickly makes an impression on Wynbridge’s reformed good-girl.

About The Author:

Although passionate about writing from an early age, Heidi Swain gained a degree in Literature, flirted briefly with a newspaper career, married and had two children before she finally plucked up the courage to join a creative writing class and take her literary ambitions seriously.  The Cherry Tree Café, her first novel, was initially released as a E-exclusive and became an Amazon bestseller.  Her other titles, Coming Home to Cuckoo Cottage, Mince Pies and Mistletoe at the Christmas Market, Summer at Skylark Farm, Sleigh Rides and Silver Bells at the Christmas Fair and Sunshine and Sweet Peas in Nightingale Square are all published by Simon and Schuster UK in paperback.

What I Say:

I have become a huge fan of Heidi's books in the past 2 years. They are a guaranteed pick-me-up. Her characters are incredibly rich and realistic, you feel you know them for real after spending a few hours getting to know them.

I love how the characters are intertwined from one book to the next. Although each book is centred around a new character, we get to catch up with old friends too as we venture back to Wynbridge. I loved in this book, that we got to catch up with Anna from Sleigh Rides and Silver Bells at the Christmas Fair. It was lovely to find out what she's been up to. This also means I can expect to catch up with Hayley in a future novel!

Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls is a wonderful story of heartbreak, lost souls, family and finding love again. I adore the setting of Wynthorpe Hall, especially at Christmas! It makes me nostalgic for the Christmases I used to have as a child, playing in the cold, frosty air, lots of family around and delicious food everywhere! I wish I lived in a village like this and could participate in the festive fun!

Now, Hayley... What can I say? She is an amazing woman! She's a serious contender for character I'd like as my bff! She's so strong, feisty and just so loyal and lovely! I adored her! And Gabe... Swoon! I loved Angel Gabriel and his huge doggo, Bran! They brought a bit of mystery to Wynbridge with them and I loved unravelling their story. I developed quite strong feelings for Gabe as the story progressed and by the end, I gotta say, I LOVED him! A LOT!

Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls is a fabulous festive read, with lots of love, chosen family, yummy food and a delightful setting that you just need to get lost in. This is the perfect remedy to a long, stressful day. Grab a hot drink, a cinnamon swirl, light a candle and get lost in the pages! You won't regret it! 10/10

Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls at the Winter Wonderland is out now with Simon and Schuster, in paperback and ebook! Grab your copy, you won't regret it!

2015: The year of working, laughing, loving and living

Well, here we are. A week and a half into the new year. Are you all sticking to your resolutions? I am, so far. I decided that I want to be more Sparkly. That to me, means happier, nicer, more kind and caring. It means feeling good about myself and my choices. It means feeling free to love and laugh. Over the years I have lost my giggle. That was one thing my Mum told me in a letter she wrote me before she died. Never stop giggling. And I'm sad to say I did stop. People have noticed, family and friends have commented on it. My fiancé has mentioned it more than once and it was starting to cause problems. I got quite depressed and struggled on a daily basis. Books were kind of a saving grace as was Twitter. But the real world and my REAL life were shut out. So, this year I have decided to change all of that. 2015 is my year of laughing, loving, travelling, working, smiling, playing and giggling. I will still read and review, but only the books I choose. No more blog tours unl...

Welcome to my stop on the Blog blitz for the fabulous third Instalment in the DI Robyn Carter series! What They Say: One girl found dead. Another girl gone... Long shadows danced on the tin walls. Inside the trunk lay Carrie Miller, wrapped in plastic, arms folded across her ribcage, lips sealed tight forever... No one knows the woman in blue who rented the unit; her hire van can’t be traced. But as the leads run dry another body is uncovered.
