My Review of Bodie on the Road by Belinda Jones

Happy New Year!

My first book completed in 2015 is the fabulous Bodie on the Road by Belinda Jones!

The idea of a book written as a travel guide for a canine companion sounds kinda bonkers. But you know what? This is Belinda Jones we're talking about. Of course it's going to be brilliant!

Bodie on the Road tells the story of how Belinda came to be Bodie's guardian (as was so wonderfully put in the book) and the journey they took getting to know each other. It's full of dog friendly places to visit, delicious sounding food and spectacular scenery as well as some brilliant characters they met along the way.

Bodie is a real gem. It sounds like he healed Belinda's heart and made her feel complete. I totally get how a dog can do that. He's a sweet, good natured guy who loves nothing more than a tummy tickle or scrap of food. Belinda puts him in such a charming, human light that sometimes you forget he has 4 legs. He really is the ideal travelling companion!

The accompanying photos are delightful! I could just smoosh that furry little face!

This book is a must read for any dog lover, foodie, travel enthusiast or woman feeling a little lost.

An absolute joy to read! 10/10

Oh, and SNOOPY! Loved that bit!!

Thanks to the author for sending me a digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

My Books of The Year 2018!!

Hello you beautiful people! It's that time of the year again, time to round up the books I have read in 2018 and tell you which ones made my list. I love and hate this in equal measure. I love looking back on my reads from the year but I hate feeling like I left off a book that I loved or missed a hidden gem. I worked long and hard on this list and I feel really good about it this year. I have read 53 out of the 45 books I had hoped to read this year, so I'm pretty pleased with that.

So, here we go!

Best Character In A Series: DI Natalie Ward written by Carol Wyer

Best Debut: The Lido by Libby Page

Best Memoir: I have a tie here between Eat. Drink, Run by Bryony Gordon    AND
Born In The Bed You Were Made by Brooklyn James

Children's/YA Book: We Are Young by Cat Clarke

Most Surprising Book: I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting. I don't normally read New Age or Romantic books, but I went to school with the author and was excited to try one of her books. I absolutely loved it…
