Welcome to my Stop on the Blog Tour for The Silent House by Nell Pattison!
What They Say:
If
someone was in your house, you’d know … Wouldn’t you?
But the Hunter family are deaf, and don’t hear a thing when a shocking crime takes place in the middle of the night. Instead, they wake up to their worst nightmare: the murder of their daughter.
The police call Paige Northwood to the scene to interpret for the witnesses. They’re in shock, but Paige senses the Hunters are hiding something.
One by one, people from Paige’s community start to fall under suspicion. But who would kill a little girl? Was it an intruder? Or was the murderer closer to home?

What I Say:
The premise of this novel is tragic. A little girl, killed in her own home, in her bed, while her family sleeps, completely unaware.
They are all profoundly deaf and had no idea any thing was wrong until morning, when poor little Lexi's bloody body is found.
British Sign Language translator, Paige, is called to translate for the police and family. The Deaf community is close knit and small, so Paige has met the family before. Paige feels like the family is hiding something, she senses unease surrounding them. What are they hiding?
As the story unfolds, we are left guessing and questioning everything we think we know. It is very twisty, disturbing and dark.
As a debut, this is brilliant and I think Nell has a great future ahead of her. I can't wait to read more from her! 8/10
This book is out now with Avon!
