Blog Tour Stop with Review - Both of You by Adele Parks

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Both Of You by Adele Parks! I am so excited to share my thoughts on this amazing book with you!

What They Say:

Leigh Fletcher: happily married stepmum to two gorgeous boys goes missing on Monday. Her husband Mark says he knows nothing of her whereabouts. She simply went to work and just never came home. Their family is shattered.
Kai Janssen: married to wealthy Dutch businessman, Daan, vanishes the same week. Kai left their luxurious penthouse and glamorous world without a backward glance. She seemingly evaporated into thin air. Daan is distraught.
DC Clements knows that people disappear all the time – far too frequently. Most run away from things, some run towards, others are taken but find their way back. A sad few never return. These two women are from very different worlds, their disappearances are unlikely to be connected. And yet, at a gut level, the DC believes they might be.
How could these women walk away from their families, husbands and homes willingly? Clements is determined to unearth the truth, no matter how shocking and devastating it may be.

What I Say:

I’ve always dreamed of being a writer and when my first novel - Playing Away - was published the Evening Standard identified me as one of London’s ‘Twenty Faces to Watch’, which was very nice of them!

I like to keep busy and I’ve published 20 novels, and I'm thrilled to say that they've all hit the bestseller lists. Lies Lies Lies and Just My Luck have secured the top spot and are Sunday Times #1 bestsellers. Whoop whoop, thanks to every single person who has ever bought a copy of one of my novels. There must be a lot of you as I've sold over 3.8 million books in the UK alone and I've been translated into 26 different languages.

I have written 18 contemporary novels and 2 historical ones, Spare Brides and If You Go Away, which are set during and after WW1. I'm happiest writing twisty, domestic noirs as I like to scrutinize our concepts of family, our theories on love, parenting and fidelity. There's nothing more fun than taking ordinary people and placing them under extraordinary stress - at least in novels!

What I Say:

Adele Parks is one of my absolute favourite authors and whenever a new book arrives, I drop everything and start it immediately.

Both of You is dark, twisted and gripping. The plot is intense and the story flows so smoothly and quickly that I was left reeling and had to go back and re-read some parts so I could take it all in.

Leigh and Kai are such different characters, it seems impossible that their stories and their disappearances can be connected, yet somehow, they may be DC Clements will have to figure it out if there's any chance of finding them. And if they are found, will they want to return to their respective homes and lives?

As this story unravels, it gets darker and I loved it even more. This is one of Adele's best books yet (I think I say that every time!). 11/10

Thanks to HQ for letting me read an early copy in exchange for my honest review. Both of You is out now!

What I Say:

I absolutely adore Adele Parks and each time she has a new book out, I jump for joy and start reading it the second it arrives! She is one of my all-time favourite authors.

Both of You is a very complex psychological thriller. It draws you into a dark world where you're never quite sure what to believe or who to trust. Leigh and Kai come from very different worlds and live very different lives and when both women disappear, it must be unconnected. But, is it?

DC Clements begins to investigate and unravel these two cases and things change as the investigation progresses. The rollercoaster ride we are taken on will leave you breathless and exhilarated. The pace is super quick and the story is really well woven, to the point where I had to re-read a few parts to untangle them in my head.

Both of You is dark, twisted, creepy, sad and scary. The plot is plausible and terrifying, as is the dialogue. I genuinely love Adele's writing style and this book is absolutely sure to keep you hooked! 11/10

Thanks to HQ stories for allowing me to read and advanced copy in exchange for my review.

Both of You is out now with HQ books!

2015: The year of working, laughing, loving and living

Well, here we are. A week and a half into the new year. Are you all sticking to your resolutions? I am, so far. I decided that I want to be more Sparkly. That to me, means happier, nicer, more kind and caring. It means feeling good about myself and my choices. It means feeling free to love and laugh. Over the years I have lost my giggle. That was one thing my Mum told me in a letter she wrote me before she died. Never stop giggling. And I'm sad to say I did stop. People have noticed, family and friends have commented on it. My fiancé has mentioned it more than once and it was starting to cause problems. I got quite depressed and struggled on a daily basis. Books were kind of a saving grace as was Twitter. But the real world and my REAL life were shut out. So, this year I have decided to change all of that. 2015 is my year of laughing, loving, travelling, working, smiling, playing and giggling. I will still read and review, but only the books I choose. No more blog tours unl...
