Re-Post of my Review of The Travelling Tea Shop by Belinda Jones

Here is a Re-Post of my Review of The Travelling Tea Shop by Belinda Jones on her US publication day.

With a tag line like "A deliciously funny and delicately moving novel perfect for anyone with an appetite for baked goods and sweet romance", how could I NOT love this book??

The Travelling Tea Shop is perfection! I'm a huge fan of Belinda Jones, having read all of her books several times so I was SO excited to hear about this one!

We meet, in my opinion, the perfect cast of characters and follow them on an absolutely life changing journey around New England. I actually have them all pictured in my head (I'm SO Laurie!!). The locations, recipes, locals... EVERYTHING about this book makes me want to read it again.

And then do the trip myself...

I am actually struggling to find the words. Someone on Twitter recently said "Oh, the feels!" That pretty much sums this up!

A Huge Cake-tastic 10/10

Review - Sofa, So Good; Me Life Story by Scarlett Moffatt

I am so, so excited to be bringing you my review of Sofa, So Good; Me Life Story by Scarlett Moffatt!!

What They Say:
Fact: Did you know, over its lifespan, your sofa will witness roughly 293 arguments and 1,369 cuddles?
Hiya, my name's Scarlett Moffatt and I love random facts. Almost as much as I love sitting on me sofa. You might know me best from my most famous and celebrated sit thus far on the I'm A Celebrity throne. You might also know me from all sorts of other seats, most especially my Gogglebox sofa. Well this book is my attempt at telling me life story through a whole series of them!
So I'd like you right now to stop what you're doing and take a seat, whether it be in the comfort of your own home, on the top deck of the bus, on the tube (so you don't have to make eye contact with anybody) or on the throne of the house (a.k.a. the toilet). I want you to get comfortable and get ready to laugh, cry and maybe even learn a bit, as I chat to you about some of t…

My Books of The Year 2018!!

Hello you beautiful people! It's that time of the year again, time to round up the books I have read in 2018 and tell you which ones made my list. I love and hate this in equal measure. I love looking back on my reads from the year but I hate feeling like I left off a book that I loved or missed a hidden gem. I worked long and hard on this list and I feel really good about it this year. I have read 53 out of the 45 books I had hoped to read this year, so I'm pretty pleased with that.

So, here we go!

Best Character In A Series: DI Natalie Ward written by Carol Wyer

Best Debut: The Lido by Libby Page

Best Memoir: I have a tie here between Eat. Drink, Run by Bryony Gordon    AND
Born In The Bed You Were Made by Brooklyn James

Children's/YA Book: We Are Young by Cat Clarke

Most Surprising Book: I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting. I don't normally read New Age or Romantic books, but I went to school with the author and was excited to try one of her books. I absolutely loved it…
