2015: The year of working, laughing, loving and living

Well, here we are. A week and a half into the new year. Are you all sticking to your resolutions? I am, so far.

I decided that I want to be more Sparkly. That to me, means happier, nicer, more kind and caring. It means feeling good about myself and my choices. It means feeling free to love and laugh.

Over the years I have lost my giggle. That was one thing my Mum told me in a letter she wrote me before she died. Never stop giggling. And I'm sad to say I did stop. People have noticed, family and friends have commented on it. My fiancé has mentioned it more than once and it was starting to cause problems. I got quite depressed and struggled on a daily basis. Books were kind of a saving grace as was Twitter. But the real world and my REAL life were shut out.

So, this year I have decided to change all of that. 2015 is my year of laughing, loving, travelling, working, smiling, playing and giggling.

I will still read and review, but only the books I choose. No more blog tours unless I really, really want to. I don't want to feel the pressure from it like I did last year. It took the joy away and made it feel like a chore. My plan is to only request books that I would buy anyway. I love reviewing and blogging about books I adore and enjoyed, so I won't stop that. I love interacting with authors and other bloggers on Twitter, so that won't stop either.

But this year, I want my fiancé to come first. I want for us to enjoy our adventures on the bus together, I want us to work hard and play even harder. I want to fall in love with him all over again. And I kind of think that has started already. Since Christmas, I have been ill on and off (this evil flu virus thing) so I haven't been up to my full work capacity. But I think I have made an improvement on what I normally do. My job isn't hard. We're self employed (we have a small computer shop) and also do ebay and sort stamps from charities. I realistically only need to do 2-4 hours of work a day and that will earn me enough money for us to live and have a life. I used to think that was hard, I used to argue for hours about why I couldn't do it. Now I just get on with it and get it done. Easy...

Work is simple, life is much more relaxed and reading is becoming fun again. For me 2015 is off to a good start. The year of working, laughing, loving and living.
