Re-Post of my Review of The Third Wife by Lisa Jewell

Re-Post of my Review of The Third Wife by Lisa Jewell. WOW!! Just wow! I didn’t think Lisa could top Before I Met You, but she did! This is simply stunning! It’s sad, funny, sweet, gripping, tragic… It’s just sublime! It’s everything I had hoped for and a million times more! The characters and their lives are so intricately woven together and create a glorious web where things may not be quite as easy as they seem. I love the wives, I adore the kids (I had a soft spot for Pearl and Beau). Adrian is really trying his best to do what he thinks is right for everyone but not everyone is happy with his choices The ex wives are brilliant characters and saints as far as I’m concerned. There are twists and turns all through this incredible book. I didn’t see things that were later revealed and I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t want to say too much as I don’t want to give anything away. Just READ THIS BOOK! You seriously won’t regret it. It’s just awesome!  11/10

First though, the small band of singers must find a lot of new members and a whole new sound.  Enter Tracey - one of life's soloists, and hiding a secret past; Bennett - a church choir refugee, baffled by the modern world. My Life In Books (Just For Fun!)

MY LIFE IN BOOKS BY TRISH HILLS @TISHYLOU Charlotte's Web by EB White . This is the first book I remember reading as a child. I still have my really old, battered paperback copy and also found a beautiful old hardback too. This book is so beautifully written and so poignant. I can't read it any more, it makes me cry, but I still hold it fondly as a favourite.   The Babysitters Club Series by Ann M Martin. This series basically shaped my “tween” years. They were fun, clever, inspirational. The girls (Kristy, Claudia, Mary Anne, Mallory, Jessie, Stacey, Dawn) formed a club to give childcare to all the neighbourhood kids. They were organized, professional, caring and most of all, fun. I started babysitting aged 12 because I wanted to be like them. I even became a qualified first aider and got my babysitting certificate! Pet Semetary by Stephen King. This was the first “grown-up” novel I ever read. I was terrified but wanted to read something naughty that I wasn&

My Review of The Secret of Orchard Cottage by Alex Brown

Welcome to my Review of The Secret of Orchard Cottage by Alex Brown! I'm very excited to be reviewing this book as I adore Alex and all of her books! This is the third book in the Tindledale series, but can quite easily be read as a stand alone. What They Say: April Wilson is wondering what to do next – her life has been turned upside down after the loss of her husband so she’s hoping to piece herself together again with a visit to her elderly great aunt, Edith. Arriving in the rural idyll of Tindledale, she’s dismayed to find Edith’s cottage and the orchard behind it in a sorry state of disrepair. Edith seems to have lost interest completely, instead she’s become desperate to find out what happened to her sister, Winnie, who disappeared during WWII. April gets to work immediately, discovering that the orchard still delivers a bumper crop each year, and with the help of some of the villagers – including Matt, the enigmatic Farrier – begins to unravel the mystery of the missin
