Update on Yolo the Eco Bus.

Hi all! I am so, so sorry I am being a very absent blogger! As you know, we have been converting our bus in preparation for our big adventure. Well, I really didn't think it would be soooo time consuming, but my goodness, is it! We are wood panelling the whole interior and each piece of wood has to be cut and measure with such precision due to the fact that the whole bus is curvy and it's an absolute nightmare and takes forever! Progress has been very slow the past few weeks but things have started to fall into place for us to finally finish our home. Lots has changed though. We now have a settee with cushions, I just need to get the covers and matching curtains made. Storage has been built and plans for use of the garage are being sorted out. We're picking fabrics and colour schemes now, which is fun! We also think we have decided not to travel very far very fast. We think we may either get a plot of land and just live off grid OR we will meander slowly to wherever i...

My Review of Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella

First of all I have to apologise. I'm writing this review on my phone and I have no idea how it will turn out. Also, I have to apologise for not reviewing this book sooner but I think I have finally found the words. What They Say: Audrey can't leave the house. she can't even take off her dark glasses inside the house. Then her brother's friend Linus stumbles into her life. With his friendly, orange-slice smile and his funny notes, he starts to entice Audrey out again - well, Starbucks is a start. And with Linus at her side, Audrey feels like she can do the things she'd thought were too scary. Suddenly, finding her way back to the real world seems achievable. Be prepared to laugh, dream and hope with Audrey as she learns that even when you feel like you have lost yourself, love can still find you . .  What I Say: I absolutely cannot believe that this is the first YA book Sophie has written. Everything about Finding Audrey is perfection. Audrey herself is one o...

Blog Tour Stop - Catch Me If You Cannes Part 4

Welcome to the 4th and final (sob) week on the Catch Me If You Cannes blog tour!   What They Say: Just one week ago, Jess was safely tucked away in her quiet seaside home, running her cafe and not really doing much of anything. So what on earth has happened between then and now that has her stealing a superyacht from Cannes marina? Leo. Leo happened. Jess doesn't want to believe what everybody is saying about him. He's her Leo, with his lazy smile, soft kisses and firm hugs, and she knows he's a good man. But she can't deny that something isn't quite right so she just needs some time to figure things out. All Jess did was fall in love with a boy who liked Nutella. How has it come to this? What I Say: If you haven't been reading this series, I'm afraid to tell you, we can't be friends anymore... It's just genius! An absolute joy to read. As with all of Lisa Dickenson's serial novels, we're kept in suspense until the fin...

Blog Tour Stop - Catch Me If You Cannes Part 2

Wow! Has it been a week already?? Welcome to Part 2 of Catch Me If You Cannes by Lisa Dickenson.   What They Say:   Jess had been feeling on top of the world - she'd had the best night out with Bryony, making lots of fabulous new friends, and she'd MET A BOY! Now, all of a sudden, her carefully constructed (if slightly exaggerated) facade is about to come tumbling down. She's had a taste of how the other half live and she's not ready to give it up just yet - especially if it means also giving up Leo. But how long can Jess and Bryony continue pulling the wool over everyone's eyes before they're in too deep?   What I Say:   This is such a clever, funny story! I adore Bryony and Jess and the stunning setting of Cannes. With this being a Four parter, it's hard to review without giving anything away (I was naughty and read it all at once, I just couldn't wait!). but I cannot recommend Lisa's unique writing style enough! I just think sh...

Blog Tour Stop - Catch Me If You Cannes by Lisa Dickenson

I am VERY excited to be part of the blog tour for the Ah-Mazin g new serial novel from Lisa Dickenson, Catch Me If You Cannes!! Lisa is like, my hero and my fellow Britney lover!   Here is The Blurb:   Jess has decided it's time to get out of her comfort zone and live a little. So when her best friend Bryony, a journalist on a gossip magazine, is sent to cover the Cannes Film Festival, Jess decides to seize the day and go along for the ride. Two weeks of glitz, glamour and exclusive entry into celeb-filled parties is just the kind of adventure Jess needs.   Reality soon bites though when Jess and Bryony find they're staying in a dingy hotel far away from all the action and Bryony's expenses budget barely covers a glass of local wine. Undeterred, the two women are determined to live like the elite and enjoy one fancy night out to begin their holiday. So what if they have to tell a few white lies along the way? It's just this once. No harm done . . ....

Re-Post of My Review of The Third Wife by Lisa Jewell

I've decided to re-post my review of The Third Wife by Lisa Jewell as it's paperback publication day for this very special book.   I was absolutely made up to receive a review copy of this book!   What They Say: In the early hours of an April morning, Maya stumbles into the path of an oncoming bus. A tragic accident? Or suicide? Her grief-stricken husband, Adrian, is determined to find out. Maya had a job she enjoyed; she had friends. They'd been in love. She even got on with his two previous wives and their children. In fact, they'd all been one big happy family. But before long, Adrian starts to identify the dark cracks in his perfect life. Because everyone has secrets. And secrets have consequences. Some of which can be devastating... What I Say: WOW!! Just wow! I didn't think Lisa could top Before I Met You, but she did! This is simply stunning! It's sad, funny, sweet, gripping, tragic... It's just sublime! It's everything I had h...

My Review of The Day We Disappeared by Lucy Robinson

The Day We Disappeared by Lucy Robinson   Lucy Robinson has been making me howl with laughter for a little over a year now. She bravely ate Twizzlers and Twinkies at my request when she went to America and her reaction nearly made me wet myself. Her books are brilliantly witty and observant. Her use of swear words (some she even makes  up!) is hysterical and she never holds back. I had the huge pleasure of meeting Lucy at the Sunlounger 2 author/blogger event last May and she was an absolute gem to be around. The Day We Disappeared is her 4th novel and is available now. What They Say: Annie has a secret. But if she's not going to tell, we won't either. It's a heart-breaking secret she wishes she didn't have - yet Annie isn't broken, not quite yet. Especially now there's someone who seems determined to fix her.  Kate has run away. But she's not going to tell us why - that would defeat the point of running, wouldn't it? It's proving dif...

My Review of How I Lost You by Jenny Blackhurst

The plot of How I Lost You intrigued me straight away. This is the debut novel by Jenny Blackhurst and I really think she is an author to look out for. What They Say: A woman is convicted and sent to a psychiatric hospital for killing her baby son, but on her release she is sent a photo of a young boy. Could this be her son or is she deluding herself into thinking he might still be alive? What I Say: Any book that deals with children will all tug at my heartstrings. The idea that a Mother could kill her own child and not remember is really scary. Susan faces the ultimate horror as she has been convicted of the horrible crime, but has no recollection of committing it. She has lost 4 years of her life and still isn't entirely sure that her son is dead. When things start to get creepy and nothing makes sense, Susan begins to want to find the truth. She enlists the help of Nick and Cassie and sets out to find out what really happened to her boy, Dylan. As the tale begins to...

I am so sorry it took me so long to review Leaves For Chloe (The Leaves Series Book 2) by Pat Elliott (@feetpaintwords) and even more sorry it took me so long to actually read it! Life Gets in the Way

Long time no post.... Well, I'm sorry I've been absent yet again. I can't ever seem to juggle real life and virtual life. Blogging always seems to fall by the wayside for me when things get tough or hectic. And boy, have things been tough and hectic... If you know me well, you know what has been happening over the past 3 weeks. If you don't, sorry, I'm not going to tell you here. It's pretty big and pretty horrible, but I'm dealing with it and getting proper help to sort my issues out. So, that's the end of that. Actually, no it isn't. To the people who got hurt along the way (who probably aren't even reading this...) I am very sorry, like from the bottom of my heart sorry. Ok, that's the end now. Moving on. Last Thursday night, I got a phone call just after 9pm from my dads friend and neighbour to say that Dad had fallen and he couldn't get up. He didn't appear hurt, just stuck on the floor. My Dad is very obese. Much as I love...
